For this double pillar trestle table, the client required a table slightly narrower than the standard 36" width due to the specific spatial limitations of their home. To make up for the lost width, I increased the length and added a bench to maximize seating; trestles were selected to ease the process of sliding in and out of the bench. I used maple and a white wash to keep the wood looking as raw in colour as possible and prevent it from yellowing over time. The top sits on four horizontal supports to give it a floating look.
